Craig Wasoff, senior managing director and chief engineer for Rose Associates, Inc., is responsible for overseeing all new construction and major capital improvements for Rose Associates-owned properties.
During his 30-plus years in the industry, Mr. Wasoff has overseen the development of more than four million square feet of premium residential and commercial real estate. Most recently, Mr. Wasoff oversaw the construction of Chelsea Landmark, a 406-unit luxury rental building on 25th Street and Avenue of the Americas, a project that is commanding record rents. Mr. Wasoff also represented the Durst Organization during the construction of The Helena, overseeing the development of one of New York's largest green residential buildings that achieved a LEED Gold Certification.
Mr. Wasoff also led the construction of The Metropolis, a 52-story, 361-unit rental building at 150 East 44th Street and The Melar, a 20-story,143-unit rental building at 250 West 93rd Street. In addition, Mr. Wasoff completed The Madison Belvedere, a 48-story, 400-unit luxury rental building at 10 East 29th Street and Le Rivage, a landmark 293-unit residential apartment conversion at 21 West Street in Lower Manhattan that received Federal Historic Tax Credits.
Before formally joining Rose Associates, Mr. Wasoff served as a consultant to the firm and participated in the management of various major capital improvement projects. He is a specialist in conducting renovations in occupied properties and has handled a variety of projects including heating plant installations, lobby renovations and building-wide window replacements. As a construction consultant, Mr. Wasoff was involved in managing the completion of ORE projects for clients such as Marine Midland Bank, Citicorp Real Estate, Chemical Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank.
From 1985 to 1992, Mr. Wasoff served as vice president of construction for Carlyle Construction Corp., a New York City-based developer and general contractor. His responsibilities included supervising design professionals and contractors, budgeting, purchasing, scheduling and value engineering. Mr. Wasoff was responsible for constructing the first phase of development at Piermont Landing, a 159-unit cooperative apartment building, a 189-room hotel in Manhattan, and a 100-room hotel and 50,000 SF office building in Connecticut. Mr. Wasoff also served for 10 years as a principal of a New York City heating and plumbing contractor, responsible for all estimating, engineering and sales.
Mr. Wasoff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering at Northeastern University, and has received a diploma in construction management from New York University. He has held licenses as a master plumber and class "A" oil burner equipment installer in the City of New York. Mr. Wasoff is also a member of Alpha Pi Mu, a national engineering honor society.
