Job Title Accounts Payable Supervisor

Position Description:

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will manage the Accounts Payable team and function as a working supervisor directing the processing and timely payment of invoices through AvidXchange, our third-party accounts payable platform.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring accurate recording of all invoices so payments are appropriately debited to the correct property.
  • Monitoring AvidX queues to maintain timely approval and processing of invoices
  • Suggesting improvements to workflows and processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and
  • Effectively managing the AP team and developing strong relationships with internal clients and peers across the organization
Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • Serves as the in-house subject-matter expert for Rose’s AvidXchange platform
  • Administers the full Accounts Payable process through the AvidX platform
  • Analyzes invoices to ensure that charges are accurate billed and coded to the correct property and GL account
  • Ensures that payments are being made in a timely manner
  • Manages workflows and monitors the exception queues within AvidX
  •  Utilizes back-end reporting from AvidX to monitor invoice processing and make management aware of any issues
  • Develops guidelines for proper workflows and coding of invoices
  • Trains AP personnel and others on the AvidX platform and Rose’s AP processes
  •  Assesses how effective AP processes are for the firm and recommend areas for improvement
  • Additional responsibilities may be added as processes changes and technology develops

 

 
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of seven years of accounting experience with at least two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
  • Subject-matter expert level of experience with AvidX required
  • Experience with managing exception queues within AvidX required
  • Knowledge of Yardi and/or MRI strongly preferred
  • Knowledgeable of the real estate industry preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable functions.
  • Excellent supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
