Job Title Development Analyst

Position Description:

The Analyst is an integral part of the Firm’s development team, which is responsible for the overall design, coordination, financing, execution, and completion of development projects. Therefore, it is a hybrid role, performing financial analysis as well as project coordination with the Development team. The Analyst will work within a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and dynamic environment in close collaboration with senior management, partners, and lenders. The Analyst will track project milestones, financial budgets, and pro-forma economics in conjunction with the monthly requisition process. The analyst will review plans, documents, market data, and all other pertinent information required to perform financial analyses. The role is an opportunity to gain experience in all facets of the real estate development process.    

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain real estate financial excel models for acquisitions, new developments, property finances and investor relations
  • Maintain and update pro-forma models, anticipated cost reports and budgets
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Development Teams to prepare monthly cost reports, budget variance reports, and other comprehensive project reports
  • Maintain development schedules and cash flows
  • Assist in managing the compliance of required project documents and maintain project files
  • Coordinate with construction, property management, leasing and marketing to compile the necessary information to perform financial analysis
  • Prepare market analysis and comparable property reports
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • 2-5 years of experience
  • BS required: Business or Finance preferred or other relevant degree
  • Basic understanding of the following disciplines: real estate, finance, business, accounting, and budget management
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a track record of using logic to solve problems
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, organize and coordinate work efficiently, set priorities, and meet deadlines in a very fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present work in a concise, complete, and easily comprehendible manner
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Strong interest in real estate development and eager to learn
  • Able to prepare cost reports (budget & variance), change order logs, schedules, and cost benefit analyses
