Position Description:

Rose Associates has an opportunity for an energetic, creative problem solver to join our team as a Systems Engineer.  The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Information Technology (“IT”) team, serving as the “solutions provider” for almost 200 colleagues. Our Systems Engineers ensure a stable, user-friendly working environment while reducing the amount of tech-debt accrued over the years.

Our Systems Engineer will dedicate most of his/her time to improving our systems, including 2020 projects such as migrations to Office 365, implementation of a new VoIP solution, cloud migration strategy, close a co-location, build out and support site offices, network analysis and monitoring.

Hands-on experience with new and emerging technology will be essential for the successful candidate for this role.  The focus is on systems improvement, from identifying a need, to recommending the improvement, technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning of back-end systems.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide escalated problem resolution for users with hardware and application issues. You are the line of defense before we would need to call vendors.
  • If necessary, liaise with third parties and vendors to resolve more complex problems.
  • Accurately document incident and problem requests within Zendesk, the service management platform.
  • Mentor other team members
  • Review and update documentation on the IT Support Portal.
  • Evaluate current configurations and processes to develop documentation and SOP’s.
  • Manage projects related to infrastructure, migration and site offices

Position may be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed and when requested.

 

Qualifications and Competencies:

Minimum Required Skills:

  • 3+ years managing multiple complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong communication, organizational, multi-tasking and active listening skills
  • Shows initiative, a strong desire to learn and is a quick starter who can act independently to solve problems
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend infrastructure technologies including NetApp, VMWare, Azure, SQL.
  • Experience working in a security and compliance focused enterprise
  • Proven success in leveraging automation and scripting tools to deliver efficient and secure results
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Strong Best-Practice Security and Compliance standards focus
  • Ability to work individually and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Not afraid to ask for help

Technical Skills

  • 7+ years’ experience in providing escalated support related requests
  • 5+ years Windows Server builds and migrations
  • 5+ years Active Directory
  • 5+ years managing DNS, DHCP, DFS, Folder Permissions and Group Policy.
  • 5+ years working with SQL
  • 3+ years hands on with Windows Azure Services
  • 3+ Azure Active Directory and/or Azure Active Directory Domain Services
  • 3+ Years using an Identity and Access Management (IAM) such as Okta, Ping,  OneLogin.
  • 3 + years developing scripts to automate daily and weekly tasks using PowerShell, Python, VB, Bash, SQL stored procedures etc.
  • Experience Supporting Conference Rooms, Slack, Zoom, Crestron, PolyCom
  • Experience with VoIP, preferably ShoreTel

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working within a real estate company
  • Data Analytics and data warehousing
  • Experience at an MSP
  • Microsoft 365
  • Device Management with Microsoft Intune
  • Strong with Microsoft Windows Server, SQL, VMWare and NetApp
