Rose Associates Extends The Body Shop's Lease at 747 Broadway, the Retailers First U.S. Location

Rose Associates has recently signed a 10-year lease extension with The Body Shop at 747 Broadway, the retailer’s first location in the United States. Rose inked the original lease for the 1,147-square-foot space with U.K.-based The Body Shop more than 25 years ago. 

Bruce Spiegel, senior managing director for Rose, and William Bergman, commercial leasing manager for Rose, represented Aspenly Co. in the transaction. Crown Retail Services represented the Body Shop, a division of L’Oreal. 

“This lease extension is especially pleasing since we did the original deal for the space with The Body Shop. It was their first American location and I am thrilled it’s been such a great success,” said Bruce Spiegel, senior managing director at Rose. 

Also known as Georgetown Plaza, 747 Broadway is located between Eighth Street and Waverly Place in Greenwich Village. Rose is currently marketing a 700-square-foot store also on Eighth Street steps from The Body Shop and adjacent to a ‘wichcraft and the N/R subway entrance. Georgetown Plaza is around the corner from University Walk, a collection of 27 retail stores that Rose has leased to capacity.
