Rose Associates Signs 1,250 S.F. Lease with Red Mango at 55 West 26th Street

Rose Associates has announced the signing of a 10-year lease with Red Mango at The Capitol at Chelsea, a luxury residential rental building located on Avenue of the Americas between 26th and 27th Streets in Manhattan. The frozen yogurt chain, which Rose also leased at Stuyvesant Town, is planning to open its 1,250-square-foot street-level retail space in the second quarter of 2013.
Bruce Spiegel and Bill Bergman of Rose Associates represented The Capitol at Chelsea in the lease transaction. Red Mango was represented by Gary Alterman and Andrew Stern of RKF.
“Red Mango will harmonize well with other restaurants located at The Capitol and neighboring buildings,” said Bergman, commercial leasing manager at Rose Associates. “The evolution of this area is in full swing with the northward extension of the Sixth Avenue retail corridor becoming a reality.”
The Capitol at Chelsea was among one of the first modern residential towers to be developed in the area a decade ago. Red Mango will join other tenants of the building, which include Melt Shop, Starbucks, Valley National Bank and Serenity Spa. Rose is currently marketing an 882-square-foot block of prime retail space on the north portion of the building’s public plaza.
Red Mango, ranked the #1 smoothie and #1 frozen yogurt by Zagat, is credited with helping to popularize frozen yogurt. The first Red Mango opened in California 2007, and today the chain has over 190 locations nationwide.
